DESCRIPTION:Dr. Jessica B. Harris is the author of twelve critically acclaimed books documenting the foods and foodways of the African Diaspora including <em>High on the Hog: A Culinary Journey from Africa to America.</em> Her cookbooks have been included the James Beard Cookbook Hall of Fame and she was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the same organization. She was a professor in the English Department at Queens College, CUNY for 50 years until her retirement. Dr. Harris will be in conversation with Dr. Love Jones,&nbsp;Executive Director of Human Rights at the City of Greensboro.<br><br>The program starts at 7 pm. There will be pre-event entertainment and reception beginning at 6:15 pm.
