Planning Department Releases Growth and Development Trends Report

Post Date:01/05/2018 10:30 AM
The Planning Department’s annual report on a variety of key measures has been published. Important findings include that Greensboro’s population continues to grow at a steady rate -- now 287,019 -- and building permits and their values have both increased, as have employment numbers and home values.

“The Growth and Development Trends Report gives context to trends that influence how and where we grow as a community,” says Sue Schwartz, director of the City’s Planning Department. “This annual snapshot represents an important summary of key data points.”

The annual trends report is one of several tools the Planning Department will use to help update Greensboro’s Comprehensive Plan in 2018. Another tool, the Data Book, slated to be released later this month, looks at how the City has grown and developed since 2003, the adoption of Greensboro’s Comprehensive Plan, Connections 2025.

These documents and more are available on the Planning Department’s statistics Web page.
