Parks and Recreation Department Launches Plan2Play Program Survey
Greensboro Parks and Recreation has launched a survey to help the department provide programs that suit the community’s recreation needs. Residents can take the survey online. One lucky participant will receive four free tickets to the Greensboro Science Center.
This survey is the second in a series of surveys that are part of Plan2Play, Parks and Recreation’s 2038 Master Plan. Plan2Play will help the department map out its goals for community recreation for the next 20 years. Community feedback will help the consulting group Agency Landscape + Planning, which is preparing the plan, develop its recommendations.
Nearly 1,000 residents took the first survey, which focused on recreation facilities like parks, greenways and recreation centers. Some survey results include:
- More than 80 percent of people surveyed ranked the quality of park facilities as good or excellent.
- The most frequent reasons people don’t visit park facilities is that they aren’t close to their homes or they do not know what programs are offered there.
- Country Park was the most popular facility among survey participants, followed by trails.
