City Issues RFP for Housing Counseling Services
The Neighborhood Development Department has issued a Request for Proposals for nonprofit organizations interested in contracting with the City to provide comprehensive housing counseling and education services. Deadline to apply is 3 pm Friday, July 13.
Preference will be given to organizations whose services are designed to increase awareness of homeownership opportunities such as:
- Access to mortgage credit and downpayment and closing cost assistance programs (including the City's and North Carolina Finance Agency)
- Post-purchase counseling and financial management
- Mortgage default and foreclosure prevention counseling
- Home maintenance
- Community outreach.
The contract, which will be funded with federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and/or other City funds, will be a one-year agreement with two annual renewal options.
