State Legislation Allows City to Refund Permit Fees Related to Hurricane Florence Damage

If you paid City permit fees for work to a building that was damaged as a result of Hurricane Florence, you are eligible for a refund for those fees.

The recently passed North Carolina Senate Bill 3 - 2018 Hurricane Florence Disaster Recovery Act - specifies that permit fees paid for construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, movement to another site, removal, or demolition of a manufactured home, building, dwelling, or structure damaged by the storm are to be refunded upon request. The offer expires December 31, 2018.
