Greensboro Fire Department Conducts High Rise Training at Lincoln Financial Building
The Greensboro Fire Department plans to conduct training at the Lincoln Financial Building located at 101 N. Elm St. from 9-11 am Wednesday through Friday, January 23-25. The training exercises will allow firefighters the opportunity to practice high rise techniques such as fire attack, search and rescue efforts, and ventilation practices.
According to fire department officials, it's rare to have an opportunity to use a high rise structure for training so City officials are grateful to Lincoln Financial for allowing the firefighters this opportunity. The department will gain valuable practice and experience from the exercises.
Fire apparatus will be parked around the Lincoln Financial building during the training. The map below shows which street lanes will be blocked. Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area during training or expect delays driving in that section of downtown.
There will be no live fire used during these training sessions.
