The City's Neighborhood Development Department is asking Greensboro residents to review its draft FY 2019-20 Annual Action Plan for housing and community development activities. The public comment period for this draft document is from April 29 to May 29.

Residents may offer verbal or written comments about the draft plan by calling 336-433-7266 or by e-mail, or by speaking during the public comment portion of the May 21 City Council meeting, which begins at 5:30 pm in Council Chamber, Melvin Municipal Office Building, 300 W. Washington St. Need a hard copy of the draft document? Call 336-433-7266.

All public comments will be considered prior to the City implementing the plan.

The Greensboro Planning Board conducted a public hearing on March 20 to receive comments on the plan; no comments were received.

The Annual Action Plan is the application for HUD funding and outlines the proposed uses of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA), and Home Investment Partnership Act (HOME) funds to address priority needs and goals identified in the City’s 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan during the fiscal year.

The FY 2019-2020 Annual Action Plan represents the fifth, and final, year implementation of the City’s Consolidated Plan, approved by HUD in July 2015. The proposed uses are consistent with the City’s Consolidated Plan.
