City Receives its 28th Tree City USA Award

Post Date:03/02/2020 8:26 AM
The City has received its 28th Tree City USA Award in recognition of its commitment to urban forestry, community improvement and civic pride throughout 2019. The award, received by the City each year since 1991, is presented annually to communities by the North Carolina Forest Service and Arbor Day Foundation.

“Urban forestry will remain a priority because Greensboro understands the value of trees and their direct relationship to healthy neighborhoods. Our community is committed to enhancing the quality of life for all its residents,” says City Arborist Judson Clinton, a member of the Planning Department.

“With strong support from community stakeholders and Greensboro Beautiful’s urban forestry committee, our growing urban forestry program continues to promote environmental stewardship while building social equity and creating a resilient economy through sustainability,” he adds.
