Galyon Depot Closed for Cleaning March 31
On Monday evening, March 30 EMS was called to Douglas Galyon Depot to help a sick person, who was experiencing what appeared to be coronavirus symptoms. The waiting room of the Depot was immediately closed and crews began to disinfect the space. It is closed today to allow for that work to be completed.
The Greensboro Transit Agency is working to establish whether that person traveled on any City buses. As of this time, the City does not know whether this person has coronavirus. A sign posted at the Depot earlier today erroneously stated that there was a positive exposure to coronavirus within the facility.
The City has reached out to Guilford County Public Health officials on this issue. GTA will update the public as new information is available.
Riders should continue to use the bus only to access essential services and for essential work. Riders should continue to enter the bus at the rear door, use hand sanitizer on the bus, stay behind the driver’s partition, and not ride a GTA bus while sick.
