Updated Plan Review and Tracking Application Debuts March 25

Post Date:03/21/2024 9:15 AM

The City’s revamped online resource for submitting building plans or securing permits launches the morning of Monday, March 25. Plan Review and Tracking Version 2 Release 1 has been in development for more than a year to benefit developers, contractors, and residents.

In advance of the software’s launch, the following applications on the City website will be inaccessible from 10 am on Saturday, March 23, through the updated platform’s launch:

  • Plan Review & Tracking
  • Plan Review Web Payments
  • Building Inspections Web Payments

Many City departments contributed to the update, most notably the Information Technology Department’s Application Development team. The team incorporated internal and external feedback to build a tool that improves the City’s ability to receive plan submissions and reviews. The updates make the process more intuitive, flexible and user-oriented.

Users will continue to access the application through the City’s Development Services webpage. Some of the new application’s highlights include:

  • A simplified initial question to start the submission process.
  • The ability to submit sketch plans for addresses beyond city limits.
  • Redesigned submission paths for specific plans, ensuring a tailored experience for commercial and residential building plans, fire permits, and more.
  • New submission paths for specific plans like fire construction permits and landscape plans.
  • The added convenience of saving frequent contacts per user profile and allowing all plan contacts to receive automated plan status updates.
  • A new FAQ page, helpful document links, and an improved form for user support.

These enhancements represent the first phase of a larger process to improve how the City interacts with customers’ plans and permit requests. Future phases will further enhance the customer experience and adapt the City’s systems to meet the community's changing needs.
