Beginning at 7 pm Thursday, August 18, S. Aycock Street from W. Lee to Haywood streets will be closed for water line rehabilitation and road repair work. Work is expected to continue from 7 pm to 7 am through Friday, August 19. A modified traffic pattern will be in effect for the intersection of W. Lee and S. Aycock streets and temporary water service will be provided for a minimal number of customers affected by the project. Access to businesses will be available from side streets. Motorists are urged to follow detours or take alternate routes to avoid the area.
