City Seeks Public Input on Community and Housing Needs

Post Date:02/03/2025 3:30 PM

The City of Greensboro receives approximately $9 million in federal funding through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) annual Community Development Block Grants. This money is invested into housing development, rehabilitation, infrastructure repairs, and community services. Every five years, Greensboro must conduct a review of community and housing needs to determine how to best use these funds. The City also developed its own housing plan, Housing GSO, to better understand the housing market and guide investments.

In conjunction with consulting firms Civix and HR&A Advisors, Inc., the City’s Housing and Neighborhood Development Department is developing and updating two HUD-required plans and Housing GSO to establish community goals and manage resource allocations.

Greensboro residents may take the brief online assessment through March 1 to assist in determining community needs and priorities. The survey is available in English and Spanish
