In recognition of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990, the Greensboro Public Library is hosting a Disability Pride Celebration from 2-4 pm on Friday, July 18 at the Glenwood Branch, 1901 W. Florida St. This inclusive community event will celebrate the strength, diversity, and achievements of the disability community.
Learn about community resources and gain information about disability rights. There will be a panel of professionals to share their experiences and resources. The panel will feature disability advocates, community leaders, and individuals with lived experience who will share valuable information.
Disability Pride Month, observed every July, promotes visibility, dignity, and equity for people with disabilities. The goal is to elevate disabled voices, foster education, and build solidarity across communities. The event is free and open to the public. All community members are encouraged to attend, learn, connect, and celebrate.
