Operating hours at the Greensboro Public Library are changing today, August 1. The new hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 am-9 pm; Friday and Saturday, 9 am-6 pm; and Sunday, 2-6 pm. Branches that will now be closed on Sunday include Benjamin, Glenwood, McGirt-Horton and Glenn McNairy.

A reduction in overall service hours allows the Libraries/Museum Department to align with changes in the City budget. “The library leadership team explored multiple options and selected this plan which has the least impact on our customers,” says Deputy Director Leander Croker. “Decisions on Sunday closings were based on door counts, circulation numbers and overall geographic coverage for the city. The change in operating hours was approved by the Greensboro Public Library Board of Trustees.
