Getting To and Around Downtown During NC Folk Festival

Various streets and parking areas in downtown Greensboro will be closed September 12-14 for the NC Folk Festival. See the following tips for getting to and around downtown during the event. 
 
Free Bus & Shuttle Service
The Greensboro Transit Agency will offer fare-free bus service from 3 pm Friday, September 12, to 10 pm Sunday, September 14. Visit this website to plan your trip into downtown. 
Once downtown, use the Hopper Trolley to travel around the festival footprint and throughout downtown Greensboro, as well as north to State Street and the Revolution Mill area. The trolley will detour slightly from its regular route to accommodate the festival with service beginning 11 am on Saturday and Sunday. 

 

Parking Options
The following vehicle and bike parking locations are available for public use during the festival. The cost is $10 per day to park a vehicle. 

• Greene Street Deck, 211 S. Greene St. 

• Eugene Street Deck, 215 S. Eugene St. 

• Davie Street Deck, 109 E. Market St. 

• February One Deck, 110 S. Davie St. 

Street Closures 
In preparation for the festival this year, the following streets will be closed from 10 am Friday, September 12, until 6 am Monday, September 15. Visit NC Folk Festival for a venue map and schedule information. 

 

Festival Setup Street Closures

East-West Streets 

• Lindsay Street between Summit Avenue and Murrow Boulevard 

• Friendly Avenue between Elm Street and Murrow Boulevard 

• Market Street between Davie Street and Murrow Boulevard 

• Washington Street Between Elm Street and Lyndon Street 

North-South Streets 

• Davie Street between Abe Brenner Place and Market Street 

• Church Street between Summit Avenue and Washington Street 

• Lyndon Street between Market Street and Washington Street 

Special Event 
During this year’s festival, the City of Greensboro is hosting its annual 9/11 Remembrance Stair Climb, beginning at 9 am Saturday, September 13, at the Eugene Parking Deck, 215 N. Eugene St.
