The City’s Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) hosts its 10th-annual Purple Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 pm on Tuesday, September 30, on the front steps of the Melvin Municipal Office Building, 300 W. Washington St. The event commemorates Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. Participants are encouraged to wear purple to acknowledge domestic violence survivors and victims.
