The City of Greensboro’s Department of Transportation is reminding motorists that the Washington Street bridge remains under a strict 10-ton weight limit. Trucks, buses, and other heavy vehicles are not permitted to cross the bridge. 

The weight restriction was put in place last year following a North Carolina Department of Transportation bridge inspection report. Drivers of vehicles exceeding the 10-ton limit must use alternate routes.
