The City of Greensboro’s Office of Sustainability and Resilience is accepting nominations for its fourth annual Live Green Awards Program. The community is encouraged to submit nominations at www.greensboro-nc.gov/LGANominations. The deadline for submissions is December 5.
The Live Green Awards honor businesses, individuals, and community organizations for their outstanding contributions to advancing sustainability in Greensboro. The program recognizes innovative, inclusive, and environmentally-responsible initiatives that promote a healthier, more resilient community
Awards will be presented in the following categories:

Energy Wise Award – Honors businesses, individuals or community organizations that demonstrate exceptional commitment to advancing renewable energy use, enhancing energy efficiency, reducing air pollutants, and implementing innovative energy practices.

Sustainability Champion Award – Recognizes outstanding businesses, individuals or community organizations that foster sustainability awareness, literacy, and action through inclusive partnerships. This award celebrates those who demonstrate a steadfast commitment to sustainability advocacy and fostering collaboration between community stakeholders.

Waste Not Award – Honors businesses, individuals or community organizations demonstrating exceptional commitment to sustainable waste management practices, specific to recycling, composting, waste avoidance, responsible sourcing, and waste recovery.

In Touch with Nature Award – Honors businesses, individuals or community organizations demonstrating exceptional commitment to environmental stewardship through innovative practices in natural resource conservation, tree and land preservation, use of native plants, and sustainable landscaping.

Unity in Sustainability Award – Recognizes and honors businesses, individuals or community organizations that show outstanding commitment to diversity, equity, and resilience in sustainability. This award celebrates efforts that create inclusive environments, support marginalized communities, and develop sustainable, socially just climate challenges.
The 2026 Live Green Awards Ceremony will be held in January at the Proximity Hotel, a nationally renowned establishment recognized as the first LEED Platinum-certified hotel in the United States for its groundbreaking sustainability practices and commitment to environmental stewardship.
