Creative Greensboro will celebrate Native American Heritage Month at the upcoming First Friday: “In the Footsteps of Fire” event in partnership with the Guilford Native American Association (GNAA) from 6-9 pm on November 7, at the Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St.
“Creative Greensboro is thrilled to have the Guilford Native American Association as co-curators for this month’s First Friday,” said Jocquelyn Boone, chief creative economy officer for Creative Greensboro. “It’s a powerful opportunity to collaborate with a Cultural Center tenant partner and celebrate Greensboro’s unique identity.”
“American Indian Heritage Month provides an opportunity to celebrate and honor the rich cultural contributions of American Indians in North Carolina,” said Jennifer Revels-Baxter, executive director of GNAA. “It highlights the need for resources and support to ensure the thriving of indigenous communities in the state.”
This free event will feature live music and dance performances and family friendly art activities. Visitors can shop for handmade crafts and goods made by Native American artists at a specially curated vendor fair.
