Greensboro Transit Agency to Host Community Food Drive

Greensboro Transit Agency invites the public to help those in need of food in time for the holidays.

Beginning Thursday, November 20, the ‘Top Off the Trolley’ Food Drive event will collect donations to battle food insecurity experienced by our neighbors. The kick-off event will take place at 12 pm in front of Greensboro City Hall, 300 W. Washington St. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off in donation boxes located throughout Greensboro. 

Donation boxes will conveniently be placed at the following locations:

  •  City of Greensboro Melvin Municipal Office Building (City Hall) – UG Level, 300 W. Washington St.
  •  Greensboro Transit Agency Administrative Offices, 223 W. Meadowview Rd.
  • Revolution Mill – Buildings 1000, 1175 and 1250, 850 Revolution Mill Dr.
  • Piedmont Health Services and Sickle Cell Agency, 1102 E. Market St.
  • Jamaica Coast Restaurant & Catering, 601 Milner Dr.
  • Will Bradley Sports Performance, 414 Gallimore Dairy Rd.
  • Greensboro Farmers Curb Market, 501 Yanceyville St.
  • Boxcar Bar + Arcade, 120 W. Lewis St.

Additional drop-off locations will be announced and are subject to change weekly. The donations will be collected by the Hopper Trolley and delivered to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina and the Rosie Wash Food Pantry at New Light Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition, “Top-Pop-Ups” will be announced weekly where donations can be brought to a Hopper Trolley location in exchange for GTA swag, while supplies last.

The ‘Top Off the Trolley’ Food Drive will run through December 20.
