Neighborhood Arts: Next Up Program Brings New Bus Shelter Art by Youth Artists

Post Date:12/02/2025 9:12 AM

Creative Greensboro is bringing community inspired designs to bus shelters around Greensboro with the Neighborhood Arts: Next Up program. Bus shelters in Kings Forest, Dudley Heights, and Glenwood have been transformed with community-informed digital designs.

The work was created by three Greensboro teen artists and three professional artist mentors. Creative Greensboro will unveil the artwork during a celebration on Monday, December 8, from 3:30-5 p.m. Youth artists will share the inspiration for their designs and receive a certificate of creative entrepreneurship. A city bus will be available for members of the public to visit the bus shelter sites. Space is limited. Please RSVP to reserve a seat.

The bus will leave at 3:30 p.m. from the Greensboro Cultural Center (GCC), 200 N. Davie St., to travel to these three stops and then return to the GCC:

  • Stop 1 at 3:45 pm - 1501 Larchmont Dr., at the entrance of Kings Forest Park. Artwork designed by Zion Jones with mentor artist Emilio Marz.
  • Stop 2 at 4:15 pm - 2630 E. Florida St., in front of the Hayes-Taylor YMCA. Artwork designed by Raegan Kelly with mentor artist James Raleigh Jr.
  • Stop 3 at 4:45 pm - 1414 Glenwood Ave., in front of the former United Methodist Church. Artwork designed by Lily Oatis with mentor artist Gabrielle Edwards.
