The Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities seeks donations for the 40th-annual Shopper’s Day, which takes place from 10:30 am to 1 pm on Thursday, December 11, at Four Seasons Town Centre, 410 Four Seasons Town Centre.
This year, Shopper’s Day looks to bring together over 1,500 individuals with disabilities and volunteers – many of whom are local high school students – for a day of holiday cheer and shopping. In addition to providing free gift wrapping service, visits with Santa (and pictures with Santa, if desired), entertainment, and refreshments, the Mayor’s Committee provides each shopper $10 to help with their shopping or lunch.
For those interested in making monetary donations to support participants, visit the MCPD webpage. Organizers also request food donations for the Santa Room – store bought finger foods such as cookies, cakes, and similar items (no bread).
