The City’s Department of Transportation and the Greensboro Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) have released the Greensboro region’s long-range transportation plan outlining future transportation investments. The 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) will be available for public review through Monday, January 19, 2026.
A virtual public meeting will also be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from noon to 1 pm, via Microsoft Teams. Registration is required to attend. For more information about the meeting or to access the review materials, please visit www.guampo.org.
The MTP is a fiscally constrained, multimodal blueprint that identifies projects and strategies to address current and future transportation needs over a 25‑year horizon, culminating in the year 2050. Updated every five years, it links the community’s vision to specific investments in roads, transit, bicycle facilities, sidewalks, and freight networks.
