City of Greensboro Announces Good Friday/Spring Break Closings

City offices are closed on Friday, April 3, in observance of Good Friday/Spring Break. The following services and facilities will operate on a holiday schedule:

  • No garbage, recycling, bulk trash, yard waste, or appliance collections will occur on April 3. The collections for that day will take place on Thursday, April 2. Thursday’s collections will be picked up on Wednesday, April 1.
  • The White Street Landfill and Solid Waste Transfer Station are closed on April 3. The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will operate during normal hours.
  • The Greensboro Public Library system and Greensboro History Museum are closed on April 3 and April 5.
  • The Greensboro Cultural Center is closed on Friday, April 3, with normal operating hours through the weekend.
  • Greensboro Transit Agency (GTA) and Access GSO will operate on a weekend schedule on April 3, with GTA providing hourly service from 6 am to 10 pm. Crossmax Purple will offer 30-minute service, and the Hopper Trolley will provide normal service from noon to midnight.
  • City recreation centers, the Smith and Trotter Active Adult Centers, the Greensboro Youth Council, Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation, Xperience @ Caldcleugh, Greensboro Sportsplex, Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion at Barber Park, and Parks and Recreation administrative offices are closed April 3-5. Regular operational hours for all programs and facilities resume on April 6.
  • All City parks, gardens, trails, cemeteries, Lake Higgins, Lake Brandt, Lake Townsend, and Gillespie Golf Course are open to the public.
  • The Melvin Municipal Office Building and J. Edward Kitchen Operations Center are closed to all in-person services on April 3. Alternative payment methods for water bills can be found at www.greensboro-nc.gov/PayWaterBill. For water and sewer emergencies, including main breaks and sewer stoppages, or changes in the taste, odor, or color of drinking water, call Water Resources 24-hour Dispatch at 336-373-2033.
