Greensboro Parks and Recreation April Events Roundup

The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department will host a number of events throughout the month of April, starting on Wednesday, April 1, with the start of the Greatest American Cleanup project.

The following are highlights of the upcoming month’s offerings:

Greatest American Cleanup
April 1-30 | Varying Locations

This year Keep America Beautiful is asking you to go from great to greatest for the annual spring cleanup in celebration of America’s 250th birthday on Saturday, July 4. Join Greensboro Beautiful for the Greatest American Cleanup yet and help clean up litter throughout Greensboro. Register today at www.greensborobeautiful.org.

Craft Center Eggstravaganza/Easter Egg Hunt Bash
Saturday, April 4 | Craft Recreation Center, 3911 Yanceyville St. | noon to 2 pm | Free

Hop on over to Craft Recreation Center for an afternoon full of springtime. Kids will dash, hunt, and gather colorful eggs hidden throughout the center while enjoying a festive atmosphere. Bring a basket and get ready for an egg hunt adventure with friends and family. All are invited to come and enjoy age appropriate Easter Egg hunts, bounce houses, gaming truck, and candy. The Easter Egg Hunt Bash is for children ages 1-12.

Bird ID Walk
Monday, April 6 | Morehead Park Trailhead, 475 Spring Garden St. | 5:30-7 pm | Free

Join the Piedmont Bird Club for a walk through Morehead Park to learn all about the basics of birding. Identify birds based on their colors, sounds, habitats, and more.

Camille's Closet & Theo's Threads Shopping Days
April 8-11 | Four Season Town Centre (Suite 245, second floor), 410 Four Seasons Town Centre | 5:30-7:30 pm | Free

A free shopping experience open to teens in-and-around Guilford County to get formal wear for special events.

Masterpieces & Mocktails
Saturday, April 18 | Lindley Recreation Center, 2907 Springwood Dr. | 2-4 pm | Free

Unleash your creativity at Masterpieces & Mocktails. Enjoy a relaxing evening of painting and delicious, alcohol-free mocktails while creating a work of art. No experience needed. For ages 18 and up.

Break-A-Way
Sunday, April 19 | Freedom Cornerstone on the Downtown Greenway, on the corner of Murrow Boulevard and East Gate City Boulevard | 2-4 pm | Free

Ready to flip, spin, and move like never before? Join this breakdance class and learn the power, flow, and style of street dance from a break dancing instructor. No experience needed.

Friendzy

Meet new people in a fun, fast-paced way! Speed friending brings people together for quick, casual conversations that can spark lasting friendships. Ages 50+.

Succulent Stylin’ Soiree
Wednesday, April 22 | Freedom Cornerstone on the Downtown Greenway, on the corner of Murrow Boulevard and East Gate City Boulevard | 5-7 pm | Free

Learn how to design and care for your very own succulent arrangement while enjoying refreshments, music, and a social atmosphere. You will be guided step-by-step in creating a beautiful, personalized plant display perfect for brightening your home or gifting to someone special.

Adult Glow-in-the-Dark Dodgeball
Thursday, April 30 | Glenwood Recreation Center, 2010 Coliseum Blvd. | 6:30-8:30 pm | Free

Adults will come together for a night of fun after work to tap into one of our favorite childhood games with an energetic twist played in the dark. Players will wear glow attire, and the dodgeballs will glow in the dark.
