The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department will open pools and spraygrounds for the summer months starting Memorial Day weekend.
Peeler Pool, 1300 Sykes Ave., and Warnersville Pool, 601 Doak St., have passed inspection and are set to open Saturday, May 23, from 11 am to 6 pm. Barber Park Sprayground, 1500 Barber Park Dr., and Keeley Park Sprayground, 4100 Keeley Rd., will also open on May 23, and operate from 11 am to 5 pm. The splash pad at LeBauer Park, operated by Greensboro Downtown Parks, Inc. in partnership with Parks and Recreation, will open Monday, May 25, and operate daily from 10 am to 8 pm.
Weather permitting, the pools and spraygrounds will operate on weekends only through June 15 when weekday hours begin. General daily admission is free at each facility; group reservations at the spraygrounds are permitted for a fee.
Lindley Pool, which has been closed since August 2022, continues to undergo structural and mechanical improvements. In early 2026, during final system checks, engineers discovered the existing sand filter tanks had deteriorated beyond safe use, with up to 75% metal loss in some areas. Because of this critical issue, the filter system must be replaced before the pool can safely reopen.
The City has completed the bid process and selected a vendor to install a new filter system that meets all Guilford County Health Department requirements. Once the work is done, the goal is to welcome the community back to Lindley Pool sometime this summer.
