Authors Share WWII Biography at History Museum June 4
Post Date:05/26/2026 3:00 PMLearn about a veteran from the Greatest Generation as authors Laura Bailey, Kaye Ackermann, and Reagan Steele discuss their book, A Hero and Advocate for All Others, at 6 pm, Thursday, June 4 at the Greensboro History Museum, 130 Summit Ave. In an homage to Roosevelt’s Fireside Chats, the authors will talk about Veteran Vern Schmidt who recently passed away after 100 years well-lived.
Hear personal stories of service, sacrifice, and resilience that Schmidt entrusted to these authors as a firsthand witness to one of the most defining periods of the 20th century. Visitors will explore his remarkable journey and discover how this global history connects with the Greensboro community.
