Residents may apply for one of five open positions on the City’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer+ (LGBTQ+) Task Force now through Tuesday, June 30, using this online application.
Interested applicants can learn more from Human Rights Department staff and apply in person at one of two LGBTQ+ Task Force Recruiting Fairs on Wednesday, June 3. The first event is from noon to 1 pm at the Yvonne Johnson Event Center, 1502 Barber Park Dr. A second event is scheduled for 5-6 pm at the Griffin Community Recreation Center, 5301 Hilltop Rd.
The City developed the LGBTQ+ Task Force to address the needs of the City's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities. With the support and direction of the Human Rights Department, the group examines rules, policies, and procedures that create discriminatory barriers for those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer. It also provides public education on LGBTQ+ issues and works to improve the quality of life for Greensboro’s LGBTQ+ residents.
The LGBTQ+ Task Force is one of five committees, commissions, and task forces administered by the Human Rights Department. The department promotes mutual understanding, respect, and fair treatment for all Greensboro residents, regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability, or familial status.
