GPD’s Homicide Detectives have charged two people in connection with the homicide of Douglas Keith Petty.

Mark Donovan Ray Graham, 31, is charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Samantha Jean-Marie Panico, 40, is charged with accessory after the fact (to the felony of murder).

Graham and Panico were already in custody in Randolph County on other charges when they were served with warrants Thursday, July 2, in connection with this homicide case.

They are being held without bond in Randolph County and are scheduled to appear in court Monday, July 6.

Their arrest warrants, in both counties, are publicly available online via Guilford County eCourts.

GREENSBORO, NC (June 26, 2025) – Greensboro Police are investigating the death of a missing person as a homicide.

On Thursday, at approximately 1 p.m., Greensboro Police Department detectives responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Dorsey Street to assist the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office with a report of suspicious activity. During that time, law enforcement located a deceased individual, who has since been positively identified as Douglas Keith Petty, who had recently been reported as a missing person. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

This is an active investigation. An update will be provided once additional details become available for public release.

This is the city’s 15th homicide of 2026.
