Creative Greensboro, in partnership with little independent theatre (LIT), Scrapmettle, Shared Radiance Performing Arts, and the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department, will present the Second Annual “Sonnet Fest” featuring creative performances of Shakespeare’s sonnets 51-103.
Performances will take place along the western branch section of the Downtown Greenway at 6 pm on Friday, August 7, through Sunday, August 9. The performances are free with donations accepted. For more information and to register visit creativegreensboro.com.
About Sonnet Fest
Sonnet Fest explores the theatrical possibilities of Shakespeare’s famous poetry. Four different groups of performers are assigned a public art installation along the Downtown Greenway, utilizing it as stage and inspiration to bring to life sonnets 51-103. Each group will perform synchronously, and the audience will rotate after each performance enabling them to see all 50 sonnets over the course of the festival event. Friday and Sunday performances will feature a fifth ensemble comprised of residents of the Peacehaven Farm community. Audience members are asked to pre-register to receive a festival map and all pertinent festival information.

Peacehaven Farm is building community by re-imagining collaboration. They were founded in 2007 by Tim and Susan Elliot and Buck and Cathy Cochran.
