City of Greensboro offices and facilities are closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day. The services and facilities below will operate on a holiday schedule.
• No garbage, recycling, bulk trash, yard waste, or appliance collections take place on Friday, July 3. Friday’s collections take place Thursday, July 2, and Thursday’s collections take place Wednesday, July 1. All other collections remain the same.
• The White Street Landfill and Solid Waste Transfer Station are both open on Friday, July 3, but closed Saturday, July 4.
• The Greensboro Public Libraries and Greensboro Historical Museum are both closed on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4, but return to normal operating hours on Sunday, July 5.
• Greensboro Transit Authority will operate hourly service from 6 am to 10 pm on Friday, July 4. GTCC will not be served by Route 11 on Friday, July 3. GTA administrative offices will also be closed on Friday, July 3.
• Emergency services are available for water and sewer needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Water customers can call 373-2489 (CITY) to report water or sewer problems. After placing the call, please follow the prompts to connect to the Water Resources dispatcher.
• The Greensboro Cultural Center, Greensboro Youth Council, City Beautiful, Smith Senior Center, and Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion at Barber Park will be closed Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5. Community recreation centers will be closed Friday, July 3, but will be open from 9 am to 1 pm Saturday, July 4. City swimming pools will operate on a regular schedule Friday, July 3 and be open from 12 noon to 4 pm Saturday, July 4. The Greensboro Sportsplex will be open as normal on Friday, July 3, but will be closed Saturday, July 4. Gillespie Golf Course, City parks, gardens, lakes, trails, and cemeteries will be open to the public as normal throughout the weekend. All facilities resume normal operating hours on Monday, July 6.
