Greensboro Participatory Budgeting (PB) needs volunteers. This is an opportunity for individuals to hone facilitation and outreach skills, learn more about City government, and engage diverse community members. Participatory Budgeting is looking for individuals who would like to serve on the Participatory Budgeting Commission.

Spring and Summer 2019 volunteer positions include:

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities

Project Advocates:
Project Advocates help turn community ideas into project proposals. They identify local needs, prioritize and consult with residents on project ideas, and work with City staff to develop projects. Budget delegates must attend one training session in April.
Time commitment: 2-4 hours per week

District Committee Facilitators:

Facilitators oversee the work of the Project Advocates and help them assess and develop projects in a timely fashion. District Committee Facilitators must attend one training session in April.
Time commitment: 2-4 hours per week

Participatory Budgeting Commission:
The 10-person commission recommends Participatory Budgeting projects, funding and program guidelines to the City Council. Committee members must be appointed by a City Council member. Interest forms must be submitted to the City Clerk.
