Live Meetings

Greensboro Television Network (GTN) produces live meetings from the City's Katie Dorsett Council Chamber. The chamber is equipped with five remote control cameras and a presentation system displaying data, photos and video on both a 6-by-8 foot screen for those attending the meeting and 19-inch monitors for Council members seated at the dais/desk. The presentation system can display flat art, PowerPoint, and DVD video. The presentation system is self-serve and residents should be prepared to load and run their own presentations. These facilities in Katie Dorsett Council Chamber are linked via fiber optics to a television production control room equipped with a Broadcast Pix Switcher, Panasonic remote camera controller, and support equipment.

Field Production

GTN also produces programs in the field using three Sony XDCAM EX cameras and three Avid Media Composer editors. GTN produces meetings and forums live-to-disc in the field using a Newtek Tricaster configured to handle up to three cameras and multiple audio channels. Graphics and music are added in the field to provide a ready-to-air show at the end of the event.
