GSO Homeless Outreach Mobile Engagement (GSO HOME) program provides intervention and service coordination to high-risk or hard-to-reach unsheltered residents in Greensboro through collaborations with the community and other City departments.
Role of Support Specialists
GSO HOME Support Specialists assist with resources for:
- Mental and physical health
- Housing assistance
- Employment
- Other needs that arise
GSO HOME Support Specialists also conduct outreach and community engagement.
Who is Eligible?
Individuals must live in the Greensboro city limits and have no shelter ("street homelessness"). They cannot be connected to any case management services or a part of a shelter program.
Making a Referral
Any individual or community member can reach out to the Community Safety Department to discuss GSO HOME services (see contact information on this page). Any Greensboro Police officer can make a referral.
GSO HOME does not help with eviction mediation, financial assistance, or individuals who have any kind of housing (including motels).
