Overview

The goal of Violence Prevention is to work with violence interruption groups throughout the city to development action plans centered on encouraging neighborhood participation and engagement in reducing violent crime.

The Greensboro Collaborative Action Network (GSO CAN) is a community-driven group focused on creating violence prevention solutions for positive, lasting change. Its mission is to create a safer Greensboro for all residents by addressing the root causes of violence, providing intervention and prevention services, and fostering community cohesion. Partners include community-based organizations, law enforcement, city departments, public health, educational partners, business owners, faith-community leaders, and residents.
