Creative Greensboro and the Weatherspoon Art Museum are partnering to host a three-site art crawl showcasing community-based art projects across Greensboro in connection with the William H. Johnson "Fighters for Freedom" exhibit.

Join Neighborhood Arts artists on Saturday, October 11, at public art sites in the Kings Forest, Glenwood, and Random Woods communities. 

The art crawl is free and open to the public. Drive to each site or register for free bus transportation. Bus leaves from the Weatherspoon Art Museum at 9:30 am.

Art Crawl Schedule

10 - 11 am - Learn about the art at Kings Forest Park, including the community icons sidewalk murals. Hosted by Neighborhood Arts artist Sunny Gravely-Foushee, director of TAB Arts Non-Profit. Address: 1501 Larchmont Dr. at the basketball court mural.

11:30 am to 12:30 pm - Celebrate Greensboro's Indigenous/Native history at a crosswalk mural in Glenwood at the intersection of Haywood and Neal Streets. Hosted by Neighborhood Arts artist Tamra Hunt, a member of the Lumbee tribe and lead artist for the mural. Located behind the Leonard J. Kaplan Center for Wellness.

1 - 4 pm - Visit the free "Fighters for Freedom: William H Johnson: Picturing Justice" exhibit at the Weatherspoon Art Museum. Enjoy lunch on your own at nearby restaurants.

4:30 - 6 pm - Enjoy dance, music, and community painting atop the basketball court mural at Random Woods Park. Hosted by Neighborhood Arts artist Emilio Marz. Address: 2112 Starlight Drive.

This art crawl programming is made possible by support from Art Bridges, the Weatherspoon Museum, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Neighborhood Arts sites are free to visit and open to the public every day.
