“The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” Based on the novel by CS Lewis and Dramatized by Joseph Robinette October 23-26, 2025
That master of imaginative enchantment, C.S. Lewis, has created a unique world and he invites children to walk into it and enjoy both surprise and adventure. An old house in rural England becomes the home base for four children who wander into an incredible country through an old wardrobe. There is a great battle to see whether this magical country will remain under a wintry spell or will, once again, know freedom and summer under good King Aslan. A classic tale about courage and the love of freedom. Produced in collaboration with little independent theatre.
The Dramatist Playground December 6, 2025
The Greensboro Playwright Forum offers a unique opportunity for actors and playwrights to participate in the collaboration of crafting one play in one day. Actors and playwrights work from 10 am to 8 pm to develop, devise and perform the world’s newest plays. The Dramatists' Playground has become one of the forum's most exciting and daring programs for both the participants and audience.
2026 New Play Project Winner – “Power, Money and Sex… Oh Yeah, and Love”

This dark comedy is an “almost musical,” with characters as relatable as they are disturbed. Set in a fictionalized Gilded Age, the story is full of treachery, greed, murder, scheming, Ouija boards, phantoms, a newspaper dress… oh yeah, and love. Audition dates are November 5 and 6.
“Short Tales for Children” January 31 and February 1, 2026
An annual collaboration with UNCG that brings future theater educators together with young actors to rehearse and perform short plays written by a members of the Creative Greensboro Playwrights Forum. Every young actor that auditions gets cast! At the Van Dyke Performance Space. Auditions dates are December 11 and 12.
“Julius Caesar” by William Shakespeare March 12-15, 2026
Honor, intrigue, and fate are at the heart of Julius Caesar. One of William Shakespeare’s most famous history plays, it incorporates elements of a certain Scottish play. Theatre artists ages 12 to 18 are invited to explore this play examining human nature in times of upheaval and uncertainty, which will include a performance on the infamous Ides of March. Produced in collaboration with Shared Radiance Performing Arts Company. At the Stephen D Hyers theatre. Audition dates are Jan 21 and 22.

Come see Greensboro’s newest short plays by members of the Creative Greensboro Playwrights Forum. At the Stephen D Hyers Theatre. Audition Dates are February 16 and 17.
BYE BYE BIRDIE - A Musical Comedy June 25-28, 2026

A loving send-up of the 1950s, small-town America, teenagers, and rock & roll, Bye Bye Birdie remains as fresh and vibrant as ever. 2nd Annual Sonnet Fest! August 7-9, 2026
Creative Greensboro in partnership with Little Independent Theatre, Scrapmettle and Shared Radiance Performing Arts will collaborate once again on the wildly popular Sonnet Fest! “Sonnet Fest” will feature creative performances of Sonnets 51- 101. Location to be announced in 2026. Audition Dates are June 29 and 30.
