Several different services help ensure clean city streets.
Street sweepers remove trash from paved streets that have curbs and gutters, in order to minimize its impact on storm water systems.
High-pressure streams of water are used to move debris to the curb so sweepers can remove it. Service is available to private developers for a fee.
Trucks collect trash and other debris on islands, medians and underpasses.
Load-all trucks transport trash to the City landfill, which allows sweepers to continue cleaning with minimal lost time for travel. They also remove spills, clean illegal dumps along right-of-ways, and pick up large dead animals.
