Firefighters from the Greensboro Fire Department will routinely visit neighborhoods to remind residents to check their smoke alarms and to install new alarms upon request at no charge.
Smoke alarms should be tested weekly and batteries changed twice a year. Residents should have an alarm on every level of the home and outside every bedroom.
If you would like to have your smoke alarm checked or would like one installed and you live inside the Greensboro city limits, call our Fire and Life Safety Division office at 336-373-2576 or submit this Smoke Alarm Request form and provide your name, address and phone number.
If you are a resident of Guilford County, please call 336-641-7565.
