Since the first 9-1-1 phone call was placed in 1968, changes in technology have touched every aspect of our daily lives, including how 9-1-1 centers and employees work.

Our 9-1-1 is a complex web of interconnected systems starting with the 9-1-1 phone system Radio Shop baythat receives the calls, the complex Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems that telecommunicators use to collect information for field responders, the radio system used to dispatch units to events, and Mobile Communications Terminals in responders vehicles.

These technologies require daily maintenance and updating to stay current and provide information to all agencies that need access during emergencies.
