The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) organizes outreach events, reviews policies, and makes recommendations to City Council for actions necessary to improve the quality of life for women in Greensboro. Learn more about applying to boards and commissions. 

CSW Women of GSO Report Spotlight

In March 2023, the commission released its 2022 Women of Greensboro Report, which provides information and analysis gathered from a survey of more than 1,100 female residents. 

The CSW oversees the Ruth Wicker Tribute to Women, an interactive exhibit at the Barber Park Event Center that honors the contributions and achievements of Greensboro women.

Starleana Green, Mayor Nancy Vaughan, Julia Walker, and Rachel Wilson were inducted to the Tribute to Women August 26 at the Barber Park Event Center. The induction was part of a luncheon to commemorate Women's Equality Day. Click here for a video recap of the program.
