Zachary Tanner
Zachary graduated from North Carolina A&T State University in 2016 with a degree in political science and government. He had a special interest in civic engagement and forming cultural unity. During his internship, he provided project support for various City departments and helped the community by facilitating interactions with Human Rights staff, commissions, and committees.
Erica Oakley
A 2018 UNC Chapel Hill graduate, Erica attended meetings and observed staff handle fair housing and police complaints during her internship. She also transcribed commission meeting minutes, took notes during meetings, and provided department front desk coverage for both walk-in and telephone customers.
Ren Chicoye
Ren earned a bachelor's degree in conflict management from Kent State University in 2015 and is pursued her master's in peace and conflict studies at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. During her internship, she assisted in the development of special projects for the Human Rights Department while conducting research about the organization and our partners.
Brandie Williams
Brandie earned a master’s of public administration in community and economic development from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and later pursued a doctorate from American University. During her internship, she conducted research and completed special projects for the Human Rights Department.
