On Tuesday, July 24, 2018, City Council will consider an ordinance that amends Chapters 16 and 18 of the Greensboro Code of Ordinances to address concerns about blocking streets and sidewalks, solicitation in public parking facilities, and harassment in public spaces.

Over the past few months, City Council gathered information from various stakeholders about what type of governance would be appropriate for the issue of solicitation/panhandling in the city. Concerned residents spoke at City Council meetings, and the City held five public forums to gather input.
