July is National Parks and Recreation Month. This year, we celebrate the "We Are Parks and Recreation" theme with a scavenger hunt, virtual special events and programs, 60 Second Docu-Series every Wednesday on Facebook, DIY Thursdays, and more. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for other fun stuff throughout the month.

"We Are #GSOParksandRec" Scavenger HuntGreen heart with text: I heart #GSOParksandRec

Each Friday in July, we’ll hide a “heart” in one of our outdoor facilities. Follow the clues we push out on our Facebook page Friday afternoons to find where. When you find the heart, take a picture of yourself with it, share it with us on Facebook, then leave it for the next person to find.

Each week, all pictures emailed by 12 pm Thursday will be entered into a drawing to win a Parks and Recreation prize pack worth an estimated $50. It includes two kayak passes, a free game of golf with a cart, a pedal boat pass, and other Parks and Recreation swag.

See official rules for more details.

Every heart will be hidden in plain sight, so stay on trails, sidewalks, and open fields and out of sensitive habitats, water, and planted areas. No climbing or off-roading will be required to find a heart.
