July is National Parks and Recreation Month. This year, we'll celebrate the "Game On" theme with a scavenger hunt, and two special events, Adult Recess July 19, and Greensboro Trails Day July 27. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for other fun stuff throughout the month!

Each Friday in July, we’ll hide a “heart” in one of our parks or gardens. Follow the clues we push out on our Facebook page Friday afternoons to find where. The person who finds each will win a Parks and Recreation prize pack worth an estimated $100. See official rules for more details.

Every heart will be hidden in plain sight. So stay on trails, sidewalks and open fields and out of sensitive habitats, water, and planted areas. No climbing or off-roading will be required to win the game!

Each winner will receive a Parks and Recreation prize package that worth approximately $150. It includes:

  • two kayak passes
  • pedal boat passes
  • two tickets for an Drama Center production in the 2019-2020 season
  • two rounds of golf with a cart and range balls at Gillespie Golf Course
  • a free picnic shelter rental at the park of your choice
  • and Parks & Rec summer swag.

Claiming Your Prize

To claim a prize package, you must return one of the "hearts" to Greensboro Parks and Recreation headquarters at 1001 Fourth St. between 9 am and 5 pm weekdays. Can’t visit us in person? Call 336-373-2964 for more details!
