Why have Community Conversations?
Relationship-building and open communication is vital to meeting the needs of the community. The purpose of community conversations is to engage residents and initiate a dialogue with them to identify their needs and preferences of recreational opportunities. The primary objectives of community conversations are to:

  • Engage in a robust discussion on emerging trends for parks, recreation and trails
  • Gain a shared understanding of changing community health and wellness needs
  • Consider how changes and trends might impact both the Parks and Recreation Department and, more broadly, the health of the community
  • Encourage further dialogue and collaboration among all stakeholders on the changing role of parks and recreation in the health of the community.

Who should attend Community Conversations?
Anyone who cares about trails, parks and the communities that make up the City of Greensboro.
