Arts After School
A new initiative launching fall 2015, Arts After School is an opportunity for children in low-income communities to participate in high-quality out-of-school arts instruction over a number of months, and to share their work in the community.
Arts After School begins with small group violin and guitar classes at the Caldcleugh Multicultural Arts Center. Students at Caldcleugh have the opportunity to engage in a play-writing seminar with University of North Carolina - Greensboro (UNCG) faculty member Janet Allard and UNCG theatre students, and experience the thrill of seeing their work performed by professional actors. The music teaching artists will offer violin classes and private violin lessons in a second location at the Central Branch of the Boys and Girls Club of Greensboro.
This program is a unique partnership between UNCG, the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Greensboro, Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department, and City Arts.
