  • Garden features include 14 plant collections, paved walking trail, special display gardens, wedding gazebo, scenic overlook, and more.
  • The gazebo is a popular location for weddings and outdoor events! Call the Park Operations Division today to reserve. 
  • On-street parking available on Ashland Dr.  
  • Lindley Park Athletic Field parking lot close by for additional parking

Garden Reservations 

  • Garden Reservation Fee: $125/hour for Guilford County Residents - $150/hour for Non-Guilford Residents 
  • Entire Garden Reservation fee: $2,000/day
  • Time reserved includes setup, ceremony, reception, and cleanup.
  • Reservation does NOT grant exclusive access to garden
  • Full payment due at time of booking

Benjamin S. Blanche Overlook

Electricity Access: No
The Blanche S. Benjamin Overlook provides a panoramic view of the Arboretum. Its design mirrors the Landmark Arbor. Closest parking is on-street (Ashland Avenue). 		  Bejanmin Blanche Overlook
The Butterfly Garden

Capacity: 100
Electricity Access: Yes
The R.R. Allen Family Butterfly Garden accommodates up to 100 guests. The garden features a fountain and a formal hedge pruned to the shape of a pair of butterflies. The butterflies are filled with numerous flowering plants that are butterfly favorites.

Electricity Access: Yes
The Hart Chimes are located in the groundcover area of the garden. This area features a stone and paver walkway through the canopy of mature trees with a large variety of groundcover plants surrounding the large chimes.

Perennial Arbor

Electricity Access: No
Previously known as “Landmark Arbor”. A four-foot Perennial Border surrounds the Perennial Arbor, and provides spring, summer and fall beauty. Limited to smaller ceremonies.		  Perennial Arbor 2

Rose Arbor

The Kaplan Family Rose Garden consists of the wood and metal arbor design that is a symbol of the Arboretum with climbing roses on the arbor and shrub roses surrounding it. Limited to smaller ceremonies.

Tanger Family Gazebo

Electricity Access: Yes
The Tanger Gazebo area is one of the most private sections of the garden, surrounded by dense plantings featuring lush greenery and blooms throughout year. Close to Arboretum entrance and restrooms.

Garden Photography Permits

  • A permit is required only when hiring a professional photographer and payment has been exchanged for their services. Photos taken by family or friends at no cost do not require a permit.
