Greensboro Downtown Parks Inc. (GDPI), a non-profit organization in partnership with the City of Greensboro, manages and operates Center City and LeBauer Parks. The mission of GDPI is to serve as the executive management of the City of Greensboro’s downtown parks, focusing on public activation, maintenance, financial well-being, and overall vitality. Features and Amenities:

Center City Park

  • Oval Lawn Pavilion, a premiere outdoor performance space. Home to the Downtown Parks' annual City Sunsets concert series every summer.
  • Various sculpture fountain features that are an abstract representation of the seasonal stream beds found throughout NC's Piedmont region.
  • These accessible park feature can be reasonably accessed by someone using a mobility device: Paved walkways, green space, and restrooms.
  • Site of the historic Henry E. and Shirley T. Frye sculpture, commemorating the first Black Chief Justice of the NC Supreme Court.

  • Lincoln Financial Children's Garden, an interactive play space for children featuring the Peacehaven Sensory Space, a sensory-friendly sculptural wall for youth of all abilities
