Dedicated in 1989, Jimmie I. Barber Park is a unique blend of nature and recreation facilities. This park, designed for both active and passive park visitors, is full of natural beauty and creatively designed facilities especially attractive for large group picnics and corporate events.

Barber Park features the impressive Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion, which provides eight plexi-court tennis courts and four combination basketball / volleyball courts. The Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion is open for play year-round.

Barber Park has an official Bronco Baseball Complex / Stadium, home field of the Eastern Baseball League, which includes a press box for tournaments, concessions area, and stadium seating. Barber Park also has an 18-hole disc golf course that is available free. In addition, the outdoor amphitheater is available on a rental basis for community concerts, talent shows and special presentations.

Picnic Shelter Information

To get the shelter of your choice, we strongly recommend that you reserve it. A reservation ensures that your group will have the shelter of your choice on the day that you choose. We accept cash, checks, Master Card, Visa and Discover.

Guilford County School groups receive a discount and must call the office at 336-373-5888 to make a reservation.

	Shelter 1 Shelter 1 has 10 tables, two grills and will seat up to 80 people. This shelter has electricity and is located closest to the main entrance of Barber Park, on the immediate right-hand side, near the tree line.  Reserve this shelter now.
	Shelter 2 Shelter 2 has 10 tables, two grills and will seat up to 80 people. This shelter has electricity and is located across the parking lot from the sprayground and playground area, towards the right-hand side of park when facing the sprayground.   Reserve this shelter now.
	Shelter 3 Shelter 3 has 10 tables, two grills and will seat up to 80 people. Shelter is only available for reservations outside of Sprayground season (Memorial Weekend to Labor Day). During Sprayground season, it is included exclusively with Private Party Reservations. This shelter has electricity and is close to parking, and is located closest to the sprayground, right behind it. Reserve this shelter now.
	Shelter 4 Shelter 4 has 10 tables, two grills and will seat up to 80 people. This shelter also has electricity and is close to parking and restrooms. This shelter is located behind the playground and sprayground, surrounded by trees.   Reserve this shelter now.
	Shelter 5 Shelter 5 has 18 tables, three grills and will seat up to 144 people. This is the largest shelter at the park, and also has electricity. This shelter is very close to parking and the playground.  Reserve this shelter now.
	Shelter 6 Shelter 6 has 10 tables, two grills and will seat up to 80 people. This shelter has electricity and is close to parking. It is located closest to the playground of all shelters at the park. Reserve this shelter now.
