Make Beautiful Memories in Greensboro's Gardens

As you begin to plan your outdoor wedding or other special event, the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department invites you to consider one of our City's public gardens or parks: the Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden, the Greensboro Arboretum, the Bog Garden at Benjamin Park, Gateway Gardens, or David Caldwell Historic Park.

Greensboro's gardens are open year-round, sunrise to sunset, and may be for wedding ceremonies and other special events on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Garden Reservations – Included Amenities & Guidelines 

• Reservation Fees:
  • $125/hour – Guilford County Residents 
  • $150/hour – Non-Guilford Residents 
  • $2,000/day – Entire Garden
• Reservation Includes: 
  • Reserved access to the selected area for duration of booking.
  • A photography permit for the reserved space. 
  • The flexibility to customize your event with vendors, decor, and furnishings of your choice. 
• Event Planning & Accommodations: 
  • Seating, tables and decorations must be arranged by the renter to suit their needs. 
  • Catering, entertainment, and other event services may be coordinated through vendors of your choice. 
  • The reserved time must include all aspects of the wedding such as setup, wedding photo session, ceremony, take down, and cleanup. 
• Additional Information: 
  • The garden remains open to the public, but your reserved space is available to you during your scheduled time. 
  • Event planning, coordination, and logistics are the responsibility of the renter. 
• Event Restrictions:
  • Tents and/or structures with stakes that are placed in the ground are not allowed. Open flames are not permitted (unity candles and small candelabras may be used on the grounds). Alcohol, vehicles or large, open barbecue pits are not permitted on the grounds.
• Cancellation Policy:
  • To cancel a wedding reservation, please notify the Reservation Office staff at least 48 hours before your event and you will receive a 50 percent refund. If inclement weather prevents you from having your wedding, you will be allowed an 80 percent refund.

Garden Photography Permits

• A permit is required only when hiring a professional photographer and payment has been exchanged for their services. Photos taken by family or friends at no cost do not require a permit.
